Birkenhead Park, where a body was discovered on Thursday, December 30
A body has been discovered in Birkenhead Park today, Merseyside Police have confirmed.
Emergency services were contacted at 2.05pm on Thursday, December 30, following reports that the body of a male had been discovered in the lake.
The male was removed and he was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and notify his next of kin.
An investigation is currently underway and CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
The area around the lake is currently cordoned off.
