A FIRE broke out at a disused barber shop in Birkenhead.
Emergency services were called at around 3pm on Tuesday, May 28 following reports of a fire at the former Just Gents barber shop next to The Central Hotel at Clifton Crescent.
Two fire engines and a combined platform were in attendance.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus gained access to the building and battled the fire with a high-pressure hose reel jet on the first floor of the property.
The fire is believed to have been extinguished at around 5pm.
Police officers were on scene and had put a temporary cordon in place on Borough Road.
