POLICE are hunting a man after an Aldi cashier was threatened with a knife during at a robbery in Ellesmere Port.
Cheshire Police were called at around 5.20pm to Aldi on Wellington Road following reports that a man threatened staff with a knife.
The man walked through the main doors and straight towards a till where a member of staff was sitting, he then pulled out a knife and held it next to the cashier.
He demanded cash before grabbing some out the till and stashing it in a blue carrier bag.
He then left the shop in the direction of Arthur Avenue and McGarva Way.
The man is white, around 5ft 8in, of a silm build and aged in his 20s and 30s.
He has a pasty complexion and a straggly beard.
He was wearing a dark blue jacket over a light grey hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
When he entered the store he put on a black hoodie which was buttoned under the chin but his face was exposed.
Police have now issued a CCTV still of a man they believe could help with the investigation.
Detective constable Stuart Wood of Ellesmere Port CID said: "I am appealing to the public to cast their minds back to this time last month and if they remember seeing a man acting suspiciously in the supermarket and on leaving the store.
"Any information could help us with our investigation and I would encourage people to call us on 101."
