A COMMUNITY fun day event held in response to anti-social behaviour in Birkenhead has been hailed a great success.
Funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner and YMCA Wirral, the event took place in Woodlands Park, Birkenhead on Saturday July 21.
Members of the community came together for a day of entertainment, street food, games and animals organised by The Hive, Wirral Change, NEO Community, Involve Northwest and The Wirral Deen Centre.
Birkenhead neighbourhood inspector Kate Wilkinson said: “I am delighted that the community fun day was such a success and am really proud of the hard work put in by the force and our partner agencies from across Wirral and Liverpool.
"The day saw communities come together and it was a really positive experience for all involved.
"I would like to thank everyone who made this possible and the High Sherriff of Liverpool for coming to join us.”
