FOR its 50th anniversary, Elvis Presley's legendary '68 Comeback Special' will be shown for one night only at the Light Cinema, New Brighton.

The special cinema event will take place across the UK and Ireland for one night only on August 16 with encore screenings at selected sites including New Brighton's Light Cinema from 7.15pm.

The cinema performance will include the 90 minute concert plus an exclusive look at the making of the special, featuring a walkthrough of the NBC soundstage with insights from director Steve Binder and others influenced by Elvis and his music.

Originally airing on December 3, 1968 the '68 Comeback Special' concert was Elvis Presley’s first live television performance in seven years, which captured him playing with a full band in front of an intimate audience of diehard fans.

Steve said: "The 68 Comeback Special embodies the spirit and talent of one of the most legendary artists in music history.

"I hope that fans and music lovers will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of the King through a unique yet personal lens captured in this content.”
