LEASOWE Community centre's plan for children's summer activities has been boosted by a £1,000 donation from Vodafone UK.
Its Community Connection Award will help the centre run its youth club, which has been in operation for approximately two years and is open to any child up to the age of 12 years old.
Paul Townley is treasurer at Leasowe Community Centre and entered the charity for the Award, which they collected from staff at Vodafone's Birkenhead store.
Paul Townley said: "The Community Connection Award will enable us to take children on various ventures over the summer.
"Leasowe Community Centre aims to include all children irrespective of their background and to never exclude children from activities due to financial costs.
"This award will bring a lot of enjoyment to many children in Leasowe.
"Thank you Vodafone!"
Simon Wilson, Vodafone store manager in Birkenhead said: "We are delighted to present the community centre with a cheque for £1,000, they operate a fantastic service to the children of Leasowe between the ages of two and 13, with an 'open door policy for the kids', they also run fantastic activities for the kids including a three-day barge trip and trips to Blackpool illuminations and Chester Zoo – many kids have great fun filled memories of these trips."
