POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman died after she was involved in a collision in Thingwall.
Emergency services were called at around 12am today (Friday) following reports a 65-year-old pedestrian had been involved in a collision with taxi on Kings Drive.
The taxi driver stopped at the scene and is helping officers with the investigation.
The woman was taken to hospital by paramedics but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
She has been named as Carole Ann Jones from Thingwall.
CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are ongoing and specially trained family liaison officers are supporting her family at this time.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to get in touch.
