AN APPEAL to raise cash for brave Edie has surpassed £100,000 but more funds are needed to ensure she can continue treatment.

Three-year-old Edie, from Tranmere, was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) at Alder Hey Hospital last year.

Her family began researching ways to treat the inoperable brain tumour and found a clinic in Monterrey, Mexico which had treated children like Edie with fantastic results.

A ballpark figure for the treatment is around £300,000.

The Spider-ede Appeal was then set up to help fund this potentially life-saving treatment for Spider-Man lover Edie.

A total of £101,297 has currently been raised for Edie but it's now more important than ever for more cash to be donated.

After travelling to Mexico a few weeks ago, Edie completed her first session of chemotherapy and is now preparing for immunotherapy treatment which will cost £12,000.

However, Edie is also suffering side effects and has been losing the strength in the right side of her body.

Her mum Ashleigh said: "Edie will be going for her first blood draw in preparation for the first immunotherapy treatment.

"Our appointment on Wednesday evening was positive, there is tumour activity but hopefully the next treatment will start slowing it down.

"They reassured us that the weakness down her right side is likely due to swelling around the tumour and so she will be taking some anti-inflammatory medication.

"Edie’s next chemotherapy treatment will be in the next couple of weeks, she will also be having her immunotherapy treatment at the same time.

"As always we are so thankful to have you all praying for her and sending love and positivity.

"Please continue doing what you’ve all been doing, it really does mean the world to us."
