Alex Williams from Ness on the Wirral has been competing for years for the annual Phoenix Shooters Association Trophy, always getting close to winning, but this year he finally made it.
Alex put Daniel Owen into second place, Mike Davies into third and and Mary Eveleigh fourth - no mean feat knowing their accuracy and competitive spirit.
Alex also achieved first place in the Captain's trophy and the one minute shoot - and enviable achievement.
Better still, when he returned home he found that his wife and daughter had taken first place honours in a dressage competition they entered that day - a good time for the Williams family all round.
