Christmas fair

WALLASEY Girlguides Christmas fair takes place this Friday at the division HQ in Leasowe Road, Wallasey from 6.15pm to 8pm.

Festival of Angels

A FESTIVAL of Angels in aid of the Neo-Natal Unit at Arrowe Park Hospital takes place at St John the Baptist church in Meols this Friday.

A Service will take place at midday, followed by a sandwich lunch and A Talk of Christmas by Ken Pye.

You can then choose a knitted Angel to take home and put on your Christmas Tree in aid of Incubabies, the charity supporting Arrowe Park Hospital's neo-natal.

The Angels were created by Friends and Families of St Johns and Melrose Hall.

Coffee morning

WIRRAL Animal Welfare Association's coffee morning will be held this Saturday at St Stephen's Church Hall in Prenton from 10am-12.30pm.

Admission is £1.50, including refreshments.

The charity's Christmas coffee morning will be held at the same venue on December 23 from the same times.

Harp recital

A HARP recital by Elizabeth McNulty from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic will take place at St Peter's Centre in Heswall Lower Village this Monday at 1pm.

Tickets, £5, including coffee, tea and biscuits, are from Alan Bradshaw on 0151 342 3587.

Proceeds go to the RLPO's Love music: from the first note charity appeal.

Piano recital

DINA Duisen and the Ruisi Quartet will play a range of classical pieces during a concert at St Hildeburgh's Church in Hoylake on Monday.

It features Schumann's Piano Quintet in E flat, Op.44, Haydn's String Quartet in G, Op.33 No.5 and Dvorak's Piano Quintet in A, Op.81.

Wirral U3A

WIRRAL U3A meets at Williamson Art Gallery in Oxton every other Monday morning.

Intended for people who are no longer in full-time employment, it is a chance to make new friends, listen to fascinating talks or take up an interest.

Oxton Art Fair

THE 14th Oxton Art Fair takes place this weekend.

A diverse mix of interesting and innovative work by 24 professional and semi-professional artists will be on display during the event at Williamson Art Gallery and Museum in Slatey Road, Birkenhead on Saturday and Sunday, November 25 and 26.

The event is open from 10am- 5pm on Saturday, November 25 and 10am-4pm the next day.

Model railway

THE Wirral O Gauge model Railway Group is holding an Open Day next month.

Taking place on Sunday, December 10 at its clubroom in the Odyssey Centre in Corporation Road, Birkenhead from 1pm to 5.30pm it is a chance for O Gauge modellers to bring their 2 Rail Fine Scale DC or DCC locos to run on the Club's 40' continuous run layout.

Entrance fee is £2 with free on site parking and light refreshments available.

Wonder of Christmas 

WEST Kirby Light Opera Society's Christmas concert will be staged next month. 

The Wonder of Christmas will be performed at Westbourne Hall in Westbourne Road, West Kirby on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, December 7, 8 and 10. 

Performances on the Thursday and Friday start at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on the Sunday.

RETIRED police officer Bill Johnson will talk about The Laughing Policeman as Bebington Family History Society's guest this Monday.

The group meets at Bebington Civic Centre at 7.30pm.

Festive fundraiser

A CHRISTMAS coffee morning will be held at Heswall United Reformed Church, next to Tesco, on Saturday December 2 from 10am-midday.

There will be stalls, in aid of various charities, selling jams and chutneys, cakes, hand-crafted Christmas cards and gifts.

Christmas pottery

WIRRAL Potters' Christmas Exhibition will be held at West Kirby Concourse from this Saturday until December 9.

Open during library hours, it will feature the work of 18 potters, displaying a wide variety of pottery and ceramic sculpture.

Christmas social

HESWALL Gardening Society’s Christmas social evening takes place on Monday, December 4.

The event, at Heswall Hall, will feature music by Peter Lord, a quiz, auction, grand raffle and competition. Starts at 7.30pm.

Free admission for society members, £2.50 for visitors.

WALLASEY Arts Society's annual prize-giving exhibition of new artwork for sale is on display at Earlston Library in Wallasey until next Tuesday, November 28.

PALS festive fair

A CHRISTMAS Fair will be held at St Paul with St Luke's Church in Old Chester Road, Rock Ferry on Saturday, December 2.

Father Christmas will open the fair and then be in his grotto with a special surprise guest.

There will also be stalls selling grocery/cakes, good-as-new/ gifts. a bottle Tombola, Toys, Books/CDs/DVDs. It takes place from 11am- 12.30pm. Admission is 20p at the door.

BEBINGTON Dramatic Society's production of smash-hit comedy One Man Two Guvnors is at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight until this Saturday.

Christmas countdown

A CHRISTMAS fair will be held at Wirral Environmental Network's premises in Falkland Road, Wallasey this Saturday from 11am-2pm.
