FIRSTLY I would like to thank Steve Rotherham for his reply, however transferring powers from Whitehall's civil servants to local unelected and unaccountable people is not the way forward.
In my critique of these proposals, criteria for being co-opted onto this panel/board was the criteria for being appointed.
Take for example Joe Anderson, now something to do with housing, and for some unknown reason the Liverpool Echo insists on calling the Mayor.
He has no more right to be in this job than you or me, and if I had the relevant qualifications - such as a doctorate in urban planning.
Separately we see Jane Kennedy our PCC another Labourite appointing another unqualified and inexperienced Labourite.
So we are all getting a flavour of the criteria required for an appointment to this board.
Just remember, though, none of these board members are elected and have no right whatsoever to have any say in your day-to-day lives.
Thank goodness for Trump and his attempt to balance our societies again away from Lefty progressive nonsense.
Mike Holt, Moreton
