Kingsmead School in Hoylake will be celebrating its second year running as the best performing non-selective school in Wirral at GCSE at its open morning on Saturday 23.

The independent school in Hoylake this year achieved 92% of its pupils gaining five or more A*-C including maths and English – the second year running they have topped the tables.

Kingsmead accepts pupils of all academic abilities from those rated as gifted and talented to others who receive support for dyslexia and other similar difficulties - which the school says makes its achievement all the more remarkable.

The open morning runs from 10am-12noon and Headmaster Mark Gibbons will be addressing the visiting families at 10.15am.

Mr Gibbons said: “I am looking forward to welcoming our visitors on Saturday to celebrate with them the tremendous achievements of our pupils and my team of staff.

"Every child at Kingsmead can expect to be given the individual support they need to make the most of their talents.

"Our visitors will see a very proud headmaster on Saturday.”
