SEX and the City star Kim Cattrall is coming home.

The Liverpool-born star will help raise funds for the Young Everyman and Playhouse organisation (YEP) by discussing her life and career in a one-off "In Conversation" event with Professor Phil Scratton next month.

She will appear at the city's Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt on September 26.

Kim, 62, once headlined at the Liverpool Playhouse in the critically-acclaimed Anthony and Cleopatra.

Prof Scratton is the Merseyside-born academic and author who headed the Hillsborough Independent Panel's research team and was primary author of its report.

Golden Globe winner Kim is thrilled to be helping the 'theatre makers' of tomorrow at the Q and A event which will take place at the Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt.

Money raised will help raise future opportunities for young actors, technicians, producers, directors, writers and marketers.

Kim said: "Returning home to Liverpool to support the Everyman and Liverpool Playhouse gives me great pleasure.

"I am thrilled to be joined on stage by the inspiring Professor Phil Scratton in supporting and encouraging the next generation of theatre artists and the community that supports them."

Deborah Aydon, executive director of the Everyman & Playhouse told the Globe: "Kim has wanted to support YEP for a very long time.

"Now we have found a time in her busy schedule to make this happen.

"We are also thrilled to bring Phil back to the city.

"I can't wait to hear the conversation crackle between them.

"It will be a great evening and everyone who comes along will be helping to make sure young people from across the City region are given the best opportunity to build confidence, develop their talent and ultimately shape the future of theatre in Liverpool and beyond."
