TAKE a look at the new addition to Heswall’s high street – tapas restaurant Silk Rd.

Specialising in cuisine from China, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Greece the restaurant sits at the former home of Ego, 166 Telegraph Road.

With Gin O’Clock from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday to Friday every week and two-for-one cocktails from 10pm to 11pm on Friday and Saturday there is something for everyone.

One of the owners Chris Williams told the Globe: “To all the customers that visit our restaurant, we hope you will feel our passion for travel, our love for fresh food and our desire to share this with you.

“It is our aim to touch all of your senses, starting from when you arrive.

“We hope to engage you with our warm décor, our vibrant music, our tasty and exotic menus and our friendly and knowledgeable team members."

Owner Javier Mellado said: “We want you to have an experience, not just a meal and drink.”

The draught beer of choice is Estrella Galicia at £4.50 a pint.

At lunchtime diners can choose three tapas dishes for £12 from Turkish Meatballs to Pad Thai Veg, the choice is endless.

From 5pm, visitors can choose from the Nibbles, Fish, Curries and Noodles, Meat and Garden sections of the menu.
