FOOTAGE has emerged of the Sea Scouts in the 1920s having fun on West Kirby's Marine Lake.
The video from British Pathe shows a water based event for an audience who are walking around the lake.
Opening with a shot of spectators who are keeping tight hold of their hats and coats in the windy weather.
The footage also shows a number of rafts and barges disguised as islands with fake palm trees.
Scouts can be seen racing in kayaks and then performing in a nautical themed pageant.
A pirate shop can also be seen as a man is forced to walk the plank.
Although it is hard to spot due to the grainy film, Welsh hills can be seen in the background.
The Sea Scouts are a branch of Scouts delivering the same programme but with a nautical twist.
Anyone as young as 10½ can begin the Sea Scout Troops to focus on water based activities and many aspects of naval traditions.
Sea Scouts may also wear a light blue shirt or dark blue jumper and a Sea Scout cap.
