SHY pooch Frith needs a patient family to give him a forever home.

The five-year-old beagle has been described as a gentle soul and loves to be around other four-legged friends.

Currently at Dogs Trust Merseyside Frith is not houstrained and would be better in a home with children aged 16 and over.

A spokeswoman for Dogs Trust said: "Frith is quite a shy boy but once he settles, he will happily come to you for a little attention and is rather beginning to enjoy it.

"He loves the company of other dogs and you can really see him relax when he's around his pals, and his playful side shines through.

"He is a wonderful little chap who will flourish in the right home.

"Frith isn't used to being fussed over or cuddled so he's looking for a family who will have patience when it comes to giving him time to settle in.

"He's going to need to live with a confident dog that can show him how to be a part of normal family life.

"Frith isn't housetrained but he's never been shown, so needs someone with commitment, although he will learn a lot from another dog."
