A COURT order has been issued to tackle anti-social youths who caused misery for neighbours.
On Friday, May 26, Merseyside Police made a successful Closure Order application to Wirral magistrates for a property in Gaywood Close, in Beechwood.
The order follows evidence of drug use and damage to the property, and will prohibit anyone other than the occupant and specified visitors from entering the flat for three months.
Penalties for breaching the order include a six-month prison sentence and a fine of up to £5,000.
PC Stewart Lawson, neighbourhood police officer, said: "Merseyside Police recognises that all people and communities have a right to live their lives free from crime, anti-social behaviour and other disorder that can damage their quality of life.
"This anti-social behaviour closure order is one of the ways Merseyside Police has worked with other agencies to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area."
