A cookery programme is looking for Wirral teams of two to compete in its latest series.

My Kitchen Rules UK will be aired on Channel 4 this summer and is a recommission of a 30-part series which first appeared on our screens last year.

The competitive cooking series will see entrepreneurial amateur cooks open their own restaurants in their homes for chance to win a £10,000 cash prize.

Renowned chef and food writer Rachel Allen and Michelin star restauranteur Glynn Purnell will be the new judging duo on the second series.

Based on the success of Australia’s My Kitchen Rules it holds the top spot as the country’s number one show on producer’s Seven Network.

Commissioning editor for entertainment at Channel 4 Syeda Irtizaali said: “My Kitchen Rules UK is a great format for amateur cooks.

“I’m amazed at the breadth of creativity contestants across Britain show when creating a unique dining experience for each other.

“We’re thrilled to be serving up a second helping later this year.

Series producer Debb Swindells said: “We’re delighted to be bringing back more My Kitchen Rules UK.

“We received a great response from series one so now we’re on the hunt for more passionate home cooks and we can’t wait to shine a light on some of the best food talent the country has to offer.”
