Three masked gunmen armed with a shotgun left staff badly shaken after they raided a Wirral pub.

The three entered the Harvest Mouse pub in Heswall and demanded cash at 12.35am today.

They stuffed the money into an orange Sainsbury’s bag before escaping over a wall and running off towards Irby Road.

Three members of staff were in the pub at the time. No-one was injured but all were left badly shaken.

An investigation is underway with CCTV and house-to-house inquiries ongoing in the area.

Detective inspector Mike Dalton said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Pensby Road who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously either earlier in the evening or around the time of the robbery to contact us.

“None of the members of staff were injured during this incident but were understandably left shaken up by their ordeal and I want to reassure the community that we are committed to finding the people responsible for committing this crime and bringing them to justice.”

The men had their faces covered and were dressed in black – one was wearing a blue jacket.
