A VULNERABLE pensioner was threatened by a mask gang during a robbery at her home in Ellesmere Port.
Cheshire police were called to the house on Heather Close on Wednesday after the 85-year-old opened her door to be confronted by three masked men claiming to be police officers.
She attempted to close the door but the men forced their way into the house.
One man put his hand firmly over the elderly woman’s mouth, pushed her into her living room and forced her into a chair telling her to stay calm and that he wouldn’t hurt her.
The other two men ransacked the property for 15 minutes before being disturbed by her phone ringing, they ran from the house with cash taken from her purse.
Investigating officer detective sergeant Robin Grantham said: “I believe that these three despicable men specifically targeted this woman knowing that she was vulnerable and elderly.
“As a result of their inexcusable actions the victim has been left extremely distressed and is now scared to live in her own home, the one place that everyone should be able to feel safe.
“I urge anyone with any information in relation to this incident to contact the team here at Ellesmere Port so that these three men can be brought to justice.”
Anyone with information must contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 722 of December 7 or reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
