A Wirral entrepreneur and YouTube star has launched her debut horror novella, Peekaboo.

Lucy Myatt from Eastham began the Liverpool comic label and emporium Level UP! in 2012 and has now partnered with Uncle Frank Publications to make her horror book a reality.

The novel explores one girl’s anxiety of clowns – a fear many people relate to.

Lucy’s obsession with all things spooky started when her father introduced her to horror films when she was a young girl and she says that it is this influence that fuelled her passion for writing and literature.

Lucy said: “The story revolves around a circus that has a sinister urban legend to it that there’s this ghost clown that follows them round with murderous tendencies and everyone writes this off as this rumour, except for Jess who is 27 and she is convinced it is not a legend because she witnessed it first hand as a child.

“Now the circus is back in town and she knows that the clown is back for her.”

TorAthena – her YouTube channel has more than 3,000 subscribers so writing this book is a seemingly normal and natural progression for the online star following in the footsteps of the likes of Zoella and Tanya Burr.

The book launch takes place on Friday, December 9, 6pm at Vinea in the Albert Dock Liverpool.
