Cheshire Police are appealing for information after a pensioner was robbed by a masked cyclist in Ellesmere Port town centre.

A woman in her 60s was walking near the subway under the M53 at the end of Station Road at 5.40pm, on Thursday, November 10 when she was approached by a man on a bicycle who snatched her handbag then cycling off.

Detective Constable Mark Hughes from Ellesmere Port CID said: “Thankfully the victim in this case was not injured as a result of the incident, however she was left extremely shocked and I’m keen to trace the person responsible so they can be brought to justice.

“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and as part of our investigation I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and believes they may have seen anything suspicious.”
