IT'S a very happy birthday to the Wirral Globe.

Your favourite award-winning, campaigning paper is proud to be enjoying 43 years in regional journalism.

A weekly newspaper that speaks up for you, to mark its anniversary, the Globe is announcing a unique celebration of achievers in the thriving arts world here on Wirral.

Wirral Arts Ambassadors will recognise those individuals and companies in the fields of amateur dramatics and semi-professional work in the arts who help fly the creative flag for Wirral – locally and nationally.

Later this year we will highlight those in the arts who the Wirral Globe believes have given Wirral a solid reputation in excellence in theatre, music, writing, performance, writing, directing and dance – in fact all those dedicated, inspirational people who help put arts on the map.

Celebrities who started off in am-dram or semi-professional arts companies have now given whole-hearted support to our unique "thank you" to the those artists who shine in their own arts field, whether solo or in a team.

Inspirational people with their art in the right place – Wirral.

"It requires passion, determination and skill to mount any theatrical production, even more so when funding is so scarce.

"The Globe is truly a local paper and the Wirral Arts Ambassadors illustrates your commitment."
