CCTV footage has captured the moment a hooded thug throws a large piece of metal at a Wallasey shop, while staff and customer were inside.

The male can be seen wearing dark clothing and has his face covered as he appears to circle around the store for a few moments before launching the item which led to a smashed window.

The incident took place at around lunchtime on Wednesday August 10, at Sean IPhone Repair shop, which is a family run business.

The family are now appealing for information about who carried out the attack.

Jennie Clayton, who helps run the shop said: “As far as we are all aware we have no enemies, so we are struggling to understand why someone would want to do this to our shop.

“The shop was full of customers and four staff members, there was also a child present. We are so thankful nobody was injured.

“It has really shocked us all and as you can imagine everyone inside has been left shaken by the incident.”

The family hope by releasing the footage it can help police find the person responsible.

The footage is from two cameras, one inside the shop and the other outside.

She added: “We put the footage on our Facebook page to help track the thug who did this.

“It is shocking because the object was threw towards the seating area we have at the store- it was just sheer luck all the customer were at the counter being served, otherwise this could have been a much serious investigation.

“We are really lucky to have so many supportive customers, everyone has been coming into check on us. The whole community has really pulled together.

“At first we were really angry, but we now have to try and move on, it was completely unprovoked so we’ll never understand why somebody would do this to us.”
