A 66-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed at his Wallasey home last night.
Merseyside police were called to a property in Crosfield Road after reports of an injured male, at around 8.15pm where they then rushed the man to hospital.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A spokesman for Merseyside police said: “Officers attended and found a 66 year-old man with an injury to his abdomen consistent with a knife wound.
“House-to-house inquiries have been carried out and CCTV and forensic opportunities explored.”
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
