TWO parades are taking place in Wirral today, meaning motorists should expect some roads to be temporarily closed.

The parade will mostly be on foot and will consist of bands and other paraders.

This a community event aimed at celebrating emerging and established talent and promoting the West Wirral area.

Due to the nature of the event and for safety reasons Market Street and Birkenhead Road will be temporarily closed for two hours between 1.30pm and 3.30pm).

Diversions will be signed accordingly.

The Love New Brighton Parade is a Community and Creative Arts event for New Brighton with its organisers also responsible for the New Brighton Community Centre and Astral Coast.

The parade’s route will see it travelling along Magazine Lane, Seabank Road, Rowson Street, Victoria Road, Victoria Parade, Marine Promenade, Kings Parade and finishing at the Dips just beyond Marine Point.

The parade will operate under a rolling road block with junctions re-opening as the parade passes and is expected to take place between midday until around 1pm.
