A TRANMERE man declared his love for his partner, in a big way when he proposed in the middle of New Brighton last week.

Damien Mcelvogue, 30 had told the couple’s family and friends to meet at Marine Point on Friday evening to help him pull off his romantic gesture.

Partner, Jessica Lee, 24 was oblivious to the plan and instead believed the pair were simply going for a meal- never thinking she would walk out to see more than 20 people holding a sign reading ‘will you marry me?’

She said: “We has just finished a lovely meal at Marino Lounge, when he walked me outside where all our friends and family were waiting holdings the cards.

“I was in so much shock I didn’t even recognise them all.

“Although he can be romantic at times this was completely different for him, I loved every minute of it- he has told me since that he was really nervous.

“The ring is lovely too.”
