MERSEYSIDE police have confirmed the arrest of a man following a number of street robberies in the Prenton and Oxton areas of Wirral.
A 46-year-old male was arrested on Friday afternoon on suspicion of robbery in connection with three incidents in the areas.
The first took place on April 29, when a 92-year-old woman was subject to a robbery at the end of Poplar Road.
The second incident took place on May 12 when a 73-year-old woman had her bag snatched and the third incident took place on Friday May 13 in Christchurch Road, when again, an elderly lady had her bag stolen.
The man was arrested and taken into police custody where he was questioned.
