A CONSULTATION into homeopathy and alternative "Iscador" treatments in Wirral is to be relaunched after it ran into technical difficulties.

Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group had been inviting views since February and was due to have ended the consultation in May.

However it was discovered that some of the information hyperlinks on the CCG’s website were broken.

The consultation will now run from April 21 until July 14.

Nesta Hawker, director of commissioning for Wirral CCG, said: “We have had considerable interest in the consultation over homeopathy and Iscador treatments.

“It is important that people should be able to reach all the relevant information to be able to contribute their views.

“Therefore we have decided it is only right for the consultation process to be restarted so everyone has a full opportunity to take part.

“Unfortunately that does mean that people who have participated already will have to give their views again.

“We are sorry and we know that this is inconvenient, but we do hope people will understand and we ask that they take part again.”

Patients, carers and the public are invited to share their views at an event on Tuesday, May 10, at 6pm, at Wirral CCG’s offices at Old Market House, Hamilton Street, Birkenhead,.

It will be an opportunity to hear from the CCG as well as Liverpool Medical Homeopathy Service which provides the service in Wirral.

Those wanting to attend are asked to pre-register by emailing WICCG.lmhs@nhs.net or by telephone on 0151 651 0011, extension 1090.

An similar event will be held for current and previous patients and carers next Tuesday, April 26, at 6pm, at Wirral CCG’s offices.
