THERE is queuing traffic outside the Birkenhead tunnel after a collapsed drain cover near the Wallasey tunnel forced motorists to find an alternative route.
Merseytravel say the problem was reported at around 7.30pm and the drain cover has since been repaired.

All lanes have since re-opened near the Kingsway tunnel.
But drivers are warned to expect congestion as the situation returns to normal.
