Body found at New Brighton believed to missing Wallasey man Luke Murphy
The body of a man discovered this afternoon in New Brighton is believed to be that of missing Wallasey man Luke Murphy.
Merseyside Police said officers investigating his disappearance had found a body near Fort Perch Rock.
Officers said the death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause.
A formal identifcation is expected to take place tomorrow.
Mr Murphy, aged 20, was last seen at around 10.30pm on Tuesday leaving an address on Deveraux Drive in Wallasey,
A police statement said: “The body is yet to be formally identified, but the family of Mr Murphy have been informed.”
