A WIRRAL mum is desperate to trace three 'Good Samaritans' who came to her daughter’s rescue after she had been assaulted.

The victim, whose name we have agreed not to publish, was attacked in Moreton late on Monday night but luckily managed to flee her assailant.

Distressed, alone and miles from home the 22-year-old then flagged down a passing car in the Millhouse Lane are of Moreton, with two men and a women inside.

They stopped, picked her up and drove her to her mother’s house in Hoylake.

But they left without giving their names - and now the family wants to thank them for their kindness.

The victim's mother told the Globe: "They're real heroes to us.

“It has been a traumatic time for the family. But we really want to hear from these three Good Samaritans who came to help my daughter.

“She was so very grateful to them for stopping and picking her up.

“At the time she had no phone and no money to get home.

“It was a very frightening experience, but we believe they might have saved her life.

”Sadly we don't know their names. In fact we don’t know anything about the people who helped her other than they had been to the theatre earlier that evening."

The mum added: “We want them to get in touch so I can thank them personally, as a mother, for getting my daughter home safely.”

The girl's dad added: “We would like to reach out to the threesome and thank them.

“Please come forward for the recognition you deserve - and thank you so much.”

Merseyside Police said a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and for assaulting a constable, following his arrest.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Wirral Sergeant Alistair Park told the Globe: "We would urge the people who kindly helped the victim on Monday night to make themselves known to police.

"Any further information they can provide will be vital to our investigation.

"Other people in the vicinity of Berrylands Road and Millhouse Lane may also have seen or heard the incident and I would encourage them to contact us."
