Two drop in sessions take place next week to allow people to have their say on plans designed to breathe new life into Birkenhead’s commercial heart.
Residents and local businesses are being offered the chance to see the plans and help shape the future of Hamilton Square at two drop-in sessions, both 3pm to 7pm, on Tuesday, November 3, and Tuesday, November 10, at Birkenhead Town Hall.
The proposed £1.1m project has aims to improve transport and traffic access to the Square and revitalise the area.
Councillor Pat Hackett, Wirral’s cabinet member for the economy, said: “This fantastic new project aims to bring about major economic benefits by making Hamilton Square more attractive to businesses, residents and visitors, and helping progress our jobs and regeneration plans for 2020.
“The scheme will be designed with the upmost consideration for the sensitivity of this architecturally important conservation area, while balancing the need for better traffic measures.
"I encourage everyone who can to come along to look at the proposals on the table and help shape the future of Birkenhead.”
The proposals will allow easier access between the Square, the A41 and Hamilton Square railway station.
