TRAVEL: Road closed after car crashes into hedge
A WIRRAL road is closed after a car ended up in a hedge, with the driver seemingly fleeing the scene.
Brimstage Road is closed in both directions due to the crash, which happened at around 7am.
Merseyside Police said they received a report from a member of the public of an "abandoned vehicle" in a hedge close to the roundabout by Junction 4 of the M53.
The driver of the Vauxhall was nowhere to be seen when police arrived at the scene.
Accident and recovery work is taking place between Junction 4 of the M53, the B5137 and B5151 (Bebington) and Whitehouse Lane.
Traffic is affected between the M53 and Heswall but is coping well.
