WEST Kirby Light Opera Society will appear in a special concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of VE Day later this month.
Also appearing in VE Gala Celebration Concert at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on September 27 are the Welsh Choral, Northop Silver Band and Liverpool-born entertainer George Gallagher, who will perform some of Frank Sinatra's greatest hits.
The 22-year-old was one of Liverpool's best kept secrets until he won the BBC1 Frank Sinatra “Our Way” competition late last year with a stunning rendition of My Way.
Listen out for George on the Billy Butler Show on BBC Radio Merseyside later this week!
The concert will feature war-time music and entertainment with a spectacular finale, taking you back to the joy that filled the nation on VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) after six years of war.
Members of the audience are encouraged to dress in 1940's outfits, military dress, medals and bring flags!
The show will be compered by BBC Radio Merseyside's Roger Phillips.
Tickets are from the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall or from Mavis Owens at tickets@rgcconcertpromotions.com or telephone 0151 652 6373.
Proceeds from the show go to charity.
