THREE Co-operative pharmacies in Wirral are being relaunched under a new name - and they're searching for an unsung hero to be honoured at the opening ceremony.

The stores will be known as "Well Pharamcies" and the change follows Bestway Group’s acquisition late last year.

The winner will be invited to attend the celebration to open the new Well Pharmacy at Hoylake and will receive a special gift on the day.

The pharmacies based at Heswall, Village Road; Hoylake, Market Street; and Pensby Road aim to "become part of the fabric of the local communities they serve and support."

In total, 780 former Co-operative pharmacies were bought by the Bestway Group, which has pledged to spend £40m per year over the next five years to drive growth and create hundreds of jobs.

As part of the Wirral relaunch, Well is searching for a local unsung hero to help celebrate the opening.

Paul Rowley, regional manager of Well branches in Wirral, said: “We are extremely excited to unveil the new-look pharmacies.

"We recognise that many of our customers are tireless in their efforts to support the community, which is why we want to celebrate their work and invite an unsung hero to our grand opening.”

“We are looking for people who have done something exceptional or are an unsung hero for their work locally.

"This could be anything from a contribution to charity, voluntary work or saving someone’s life – anything that has made a positive impact in the local area.”

Readers can nominate a friend, neighbour, work colleague or relative by email to wellheroes@havasww.com or post to Well Heroes, Havas PR, 52 Princess Street, Manchester M1 JX.

Please provide your details, as well as the name of the person you are nominating and a brief outline of why you think they deserve the accolade.

Closing date for nominations is Tuesday, June 1.

The winner will be invited to attend the celebration to open the new Well Pharmacy at Hoylake and will receive a special gift on the day.
