A WIRRAL student needs your vote in her bid to become the next Miss England.

Nicol Ellison, 21, from Eastham, is one of 30 contestants competing in the first Miss England semi final heat for 2015.

The public vote is now well underway and she needs the support of her local community before voting lines close in order to secure a place in the Miss England semi-final held in June 2015.

Nicol is hoping to win by being voted one of the top three in the heat. If she does reach the top three, her fate will then be in the hands of the panel of judges, which includes Miss England 2013, Kirsty Heslewood, who will decide who is the most photogenic, and will receive a place in the Miss England semi-final.

The current Miss England is Carina Tyrrell, 24, from Cambridge, a student Doctor who will be representing England at Miss World in London on December 14.

The winner of this heat will go on to compete in the Miss England 2015 semi-final, where she will be in with the chance of securing a place in the grand final next year.

Urging our readers to support her, Nicol told the Globe: ''I entered Miss England because I believe I am a kind, generous and thoughtful person who always puts the needs of others first.

"If I was successful in the competition I would definitely be a good person to represent England an help raise money for charities an organisations that need support.''

The ultimate winner of Miss England 2015 will spend her year raising awareness for various charities and will receive a whole host of prizes worth £30,000, including a luxury holiday to Mauritius the dream holiday destination and a place in Miss World 2015.

In the last three years over £550,000 has been raised by Miss England contestants to help disadvantaged children around the UK.
