Two lanes of M53 closed after seven-car smash
TWO lanes of the M53 southbound are currently closed following a four car crash near Junction four at Clatterbridge this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 9am.
The air ambulance has also landed in a nearby field.
Matrix signs have been set to 40mph. There has also been another accident in the delays.
A Highways Agency spokesman has said people have been injured, but at this stage the extent of their injuries is not known.
The third lane of the motorway is open to motorists.
