DETECTIVES are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found at a house in Bebington in the early hours of this morning.

Police entered a house on Kennet Road at just after midnight following reports of concern for the safety of a man.

Once inside, they found the bodies of two men aged 47 years and 54 years. At this time, their deaths are being treated as unexplained.

It is not known how long the bodies had lain undiscovered.

Officers from the police search and rescue unit arrived at the house as part of the investigation.

Next of kin are now in the process of being informed.

Formal identification is still to take place.

One, who had lived in the area for 14 years, told the Globe: "This is the first time anything like this has happened. It's a terrible shock."

Another, who also wanted to remain anonymous, said: "There were 'wall-to-wall' police in the road after the bodies were found. We had no idea what was going on at the time."

Anyone with information is asked to call Merseyside Police on the 101 non-emergency number.
