POLICE investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a house in New Ferry say they are not treating it as suspicious.

Officers were called to an address on Longfellow Drive by the ambulance service on Sunday night, following a report of concern for safety.

On arrival they found the body of a 36-year-old woman inside the property.

The woman has been identified and next of kin have been informed.

Her identity has not been disclosed by the authorities.

A post mortem examination has taken place and the file passed on to the coroner.
