LATEST figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that since 2010 recorded crime in Wirral and Merseyside communities has fallen by 13%.
This is great news that crime continues to fall here and around the country.
Hardworking local police officers here can be rightly proud of their success in cutting crime.
We want to set the police free to fight crime. That's why we have cut red tape and given police one simple target: cut crime.
People want to know they are safe on their streets and in their homes, and our plan to make sure they can is working.
Crime is falling, according to both the recorded crime stats and the independent crime survey, and we will continue working to give everyone the safety and security they need.
Esther McVey, Wirral West MP
