CAN someone please explain the logic behind the road layout changes taking place on Tower Road?

For some reason the powers that be have decided to create a lovely bottle neck, reducing from two lane approach to roundabout to only one.

A very busy junction almost always, it defies belief that this has been done and no excuse of "safety" can be used.

It will create more frustration, more accidents, more speeding / rushing, not to mention the added traffic that has now started to use the residential road of St Paul’s, to avoid the queues and cut through to Wheatland Lane instead, speeding of course.

And that doesn't even touch on the poor foundations of houses in this area, built in 1900s that suffer from the vibration of traffic at best of times.

Do these people who plan and authorise unnecessary changes actually consider all repercussions?

I think not, probably just meeting stupid health and safety criteria that really just makes things worst.

Absolute nonsense.
