A WIRRAL man was threatened by two knife-wielding men as he returned home from work.
The attempted robbery Hawarden Avenue, Birkenhead on May 2 happened when the 58-year-old victim was approached by two men as he got out of his car.
The men, one of whom was armed with a knife, demanded that he hand over his mobile phone and wallet but he refused and shouted for help.
They fled the scene towards Park Road South when neighbours came to their doors.
Police have now issued an e-fit of one of the culprits and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector Nick Suffield said: "These two offenders took the victim by surprise after he had returned home late after work. They threatened him with a weapon but he refused to hand over his money and shouted for help and they ran off.
“Fortunately, he was not injured and he got a good look at them. I would ask people to study the e-fit and tell us if you know anyone who looks like this person. Your information could be important to us seeking justice for this victim.”
