A WIRRAL man was charged with assault following an incident at a pub in Wallasey.

Jozeph Williams, of Victoria Road, Wallasey, appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court yesterday in connection with the incident which took place during the early hours of Sunday.

It happened at The Boot, Wallasey Road, Liscard at around 12.30am when a 33-year-old man was assaulted.

He was taken by ambulance to Arrowe Park Hospital to treated for facial injuries.

Williams, 27, went before magistrates on Monday.
