THE body of a man found washed up on a Wirral beach has been identified as that of Michael Murphy.
Police have confirmed the 32-year-old, from Mold, North Wales, was identified following a DNA test.
The discovery was made on December 4 at West Kirby beach
It was believed Mr Murphy had died sometime ago, possibly during the summer months.
Police say he was reported as missing in January.
The matter has now been referred to the coroner and his family have been informed.
