MP Since - 2010 Majority - 2,436 Born - 1967, Single.
Education - Belvedere School, Northeast Technical College. London University (Queen Mary and Westfield), Law. City University, Radio Journalism. John Moores University, MSc (Corporate Governance, 2009).

Previous Occupation - Presenter/Producer. Director, J.G. McVey and Co Ltd (demolition/site clearance). Managing Director, Making It (UK) Ltd - founder of PR/markerting company.

Personal Overview - Established media and business background suggests a potentially high-profile Westminster performer if she can translate her energy successfully onto the national political stage. A committed campaigner across a range of social and charitable causes she is at present something of a political clean slate having little political profile beyond her own constituency. The mainstay of her presently known issues would suggest that she should fit in well to a Cameron-led Conservative Parliamentary Party. Indeed, she became a junior Minister at the 2012 reshuffle.

Political History - Parliamentary Candidate for Wirral West (2005), Member for Wirral West (2010-). PPS to Chris Grayling as Minister of State for Employment (2010-12). Minister for Disabled People (2012-).

Characteristics - Patron of Wirral Holistic Therapeutic Cancer Care, and 'Full of Life' - charity for disabled children and their families. Previously nominated as Cheshire Woman of the Year and Merseyside Woman of the Year. Governor, West Kirby Primary School. She is a long-standing friend of Kate McCann, and helped the family to establish the Madeleine McCann Fund in the aftermath of the daughter's abduction.
