Three Men and a Dog was the blockbuster event of the year.

A reunion of Tiswas.

And The Wirral Globe was there to capture it.

Chris Tarrant had been invited to Wirral to take part in "An Audience With Show" as a curtain-raiser for this year's Festival of Firsts.

Last year Harry Hill came to Wirral but landing Chris Tarrant was a coup.

John Gorman was one of the Tiswas team with Lenny Henry and Sally James.

But on Saturday night at Westbourne Hall in West Kirby there were two special guests who made the fund-raiser for Claire House so special.

Bob Carolgees and Spit the Dog came to see Chris and John. But it was all hush hush ...even our Globe photographer was sworn to secrecy.

John told the Globe: "Chris gave his fee to Claire House and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

"He gave us raffle przes, spoke about his best-selling book about his father called Dad's War and loved the evening."

Chris said Tiswas was the highlight of his career despite huge fame with Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and as one of Capital Radio's serving broadcasters.

Added John: "Chris made his own way to Wirral and did an early walkabout in West Kirby. He was really impressed.

"It was a great evening,we raised a lot of money and the Globe was there so what more could an audience want?

"Chris was so chuffed with it all; yeah, especially the Tiswas team in Wirral.

"A great one off event and I got Spit the Dog's paw print autograph."
