COUNCILLOR Don McCubbin wrote here last week that Wirral libraries are "true hubs local communities", serving some of the most vulnerable and elderly people in our communities.
My own experience of the libraries certainly bears this out, but I have to ask the question; Why do they all have to close on Wednesdays?
If the local libraries are to truly fulfil Cllr McCubbin's statement why can they not stagger their days off?
In the same way, some libraries close for lunch, others remain open. Maybe this could be looked at as well.
It is not just a matter of borrowing books or reading newspapers. Many people use the libraries for internet access and a need for this can arise irrespective of day or time.
