WE live in Saughall Massie and around the corner a 20 mph limit has been enforced.
How much this lunacy is costing is anybody's guess when the council are always bleating lack of resources (ie cash).
The Fender Lane shambles costing £200,000 is proof of the vacuous thinking by Wirral Council.
It is plain common sense to have speed restrictions around schools and hospitals, but to reduce speeds because of climate change borders on a type of mental illness fixated by the Net Zero nonsense costing us all billions we haven't got.
Now we have Ed Miliband with his crazy policies restricting life giving CO2, it beggars belief.
Wirral Council is renown for wasting money, as was the old Wallasey council as I remember being a young 77 years old now.
I have taken a keen interest in politics for over 60 years so have all that experience to look back on, but nothing ever really changes, the same characters come and go all have a gift of wasting cash and thinking up policies that defile old fashioned common sense, as Fender Lane cycle farce proves.
I have also taken the time and effort over the last seven years to research climate change. My bookshelves are groaning under the weight of literature investigating climate change.
My conclusion agrees with a host of genuine climate scientists the Net Zero policy is more about politics than science as Al Gore has proved since the late '80s.
Therefore the argument the 20mph restrictions are somehow 'saving the planet' are pie in the sky.
Dave Rowe, Saughall Massie
