THE deep and growing concern amongst the population at the problems arising from the imposition of this speed limit has been expressed widely and repeatedly; the increased pollution arising from low gear running, traffic jams from zone avoidance and so on.

That the council has gone ahead in the face of widespread opposition and avoided any realistic cost-benefit analysis must raise questions as to the suitability of those making these decisions.

The only real answer is for a detailed list of all those individuals within the Wirral Borough Council who voted in favour of this proposal to be published, together with the stated opinion of local Members of Parliament in order that the people can take appropriate action in coming elections.
